Visit of “Voices in Harmony”

The well-known Midlands choir “Voices in Harmony” (formerly Sandwell Community Choir) will be presenting a concert in our church on 1st July at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5, either at the door, or to book in advance, phone 01938 850514.

Recording for Radio Wales

On 23rd May, BBC Radio Wales recorded two services from our church for the Sunday “Celebration” series. Our minister, Rev Sue Lawler, who led the service with readers selected from the congregation, prepared the script and chose the hymns, and the church’s Jubilate singers led the singing. A group of 9 singers from the church’s Jubilate group joined 30 others from around the UK for a very enjoyable “Singing for Pleasure” week at the beginning of May. Torn Curtain, the musical

Roger Jones’ musical “Torn Curtain”, which includes a setting of Holy Communion, was sung on Palm Sunday evening by the church’s Jubilate Singers, and was much appreciated by a capacity congregation. (Watch this space for news of another Roger Jones musical later in the year!)

Anniversary Meal

To celebrate its Sixth Anniversary, the church’s Jubilate singing group enjoyed Sunday Lunch at the Lakeside Golf Club, Garthmyl today, 12th March. Currently the group is busy rehearsing for a performance of Roger Jones’ “Torn Curtain” to be sung on Palm Sunday. Watch this space – more details to come!
