Walking with Friends
The walks are usually on the 4th Saturday of each month. Recently we walked around Montgomery and its castle, with outstanding views and another around Llanymynech Rocks, a walk we would recommend to you. The walks are arranged to accommodate most walking abilities. For the full programme of walks click here.
Bible Reading, Reflective Prayer & Picnic Lunch
On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month between 12 noon and 1.00 p.m. Reading lasts about 30 minutes followed by informal chats on the readings and a picnic lunch (if desired). The next sessions will be on 23rd January and 13th and 27th February. On the 1st Thursday of the month, Rev Bill Rowell leads us in half an hour of reflective prayer: "Listening for God in the Silence". The next sessions are on 6th February and 5th March.
Alpha course - Gallery Group
Last year we ran an Alpha Course and since its completion we have been holding a "Gallery Group" meeting once a month on the 3rd Friday of every month at 7.00 p.m. Each meeting starts with a drink with biscuits followed by viewing a film and then having a discussion on the topics raised in the film. All are welcome to join us.
Regular practices coincide with the Monday Morning Coffee Mornings at 10.00 a.m. They last about 75 minutes and we sing, mainly, Christian music. The timing allows for us to enjoy some refreshment and a chat as well as singing. All are welcome, musical prowess or the ability to read music, though desirable, is not necessary!
Currently we are meeting on Monday mornings, but Tuesday evening practices will commence in March, for our presentation of the Roger Jones' musical "Saints Alive!" at Pentecost. Over the Christmas period we raised almost £500 for charity with our performance of Roger Jones' "The Inn Crowd" and from our Carol Singing sessions.
