The walks are arranged to accommodate most walking abilities. Our next walk on Saturday 27th April will be along the Wenlock Edge, leaving church at 9.30 a.m.. For the full summer programme of walks click here.
Bible Reading, Reflective Prayer & Picnic Lunch
On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month between 12 noon and 1.00 p.m. Readings last about 30 minutes followed by informal chats on the readings and a picnic lunch (if desired). The next sessions are on 9th and 23rd May, and 13th and 27th June. On the 1st Thursday of the month, Rev Bill Rowell leads us in half an hour of reflective prayer: "Listening for God in the Silence". The next sessions are on 2nd May and 6th June.
Alpha course - Gallery Group
Last year we ran an Alpha Course and since its completion we have been holding a "Gallery Group" meeting once a month on the 3rd Friday of every month at 7.00 p.m. Each meeting starts with a drink with biscuits followed by viewing a film and then having a discussion on the topics raised in the film. All are welcome to join us.
Regular practices coincide with the Monday Morning Coffee Mornings at 10.00 a.m. They last about 75 minutes and we sing, mainly, Christian music. The timing allows for us to enjoy some refreshment and a chat as well as singing. All are welcome, musical prowess or the ability to read music, though desirable, is not necessary!
In the last 18 months, we have performed "The Gift" by Graham Kendrick, Margaret Rizza's setting for Holy Communion, "Broken for You", Michael Hurd's "Jonah Man Jazz" and "David", "Jairus' Daughter" and "While Shepherds Watched", Christian musicals by Roger Jones. At Christmas we sang in the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols and we are now rehearsing for our 2019 presentations - a Supper Concert to take place in September featuring favourite items from our repertoire as well as new music and poetry, and more Roger Jones musicals ("The Inn Crowd" is planned for Christmas), as well as contributions to Sunday worship.
