Alpha course - Gallery Group
Last year we ran an Alpha Course and since its completion we have been holding a "Gallery Group" meeting once a month on the 3rd Friday of every month at 7.00 p.m. Each meeting starts with a drink with biscuits followed by viewing a film and then having a discussion on the topics raised in the film. All are welcome to join us.
Regular practices coincide with the Monday Morning Coffee Mornings at 10.00 a.m. They last about 75 minutes and we sing, mainly, Christian music. The timing allows for us to enjoy some refreshment and a chat as well as singing. All are welcome, musical prowess or the ability to read music, though desirable, is not necessary!
We performed "The Gift" by Graham Kendrick in a service on Sunday 17th December at 4.00 pm, and sang Margaret Rizza's setting for Holy Communion, "Broken for You", which we presented, with Rev Bill Rowell officiating, on Sunday 15th April. By way of contrast, we sang Michael Hurd's "Jonah Man Jazz" in the evening service on 10th June during this year's Bible Month, when the chosen book on which to focus was Jonah, and we shall present this again at Trefeglwys Chapel on 15th July. Our next Roger Jones' musical is "David", which we plan to sing at Welshpool on 23rd September, and then we shall begin preparing for Christmas.
Saturday 20th October - "Musical in a Day" when Annie Routley, joined by members of the Christian Music Ministries team, will teach us Roger Jones' musical "Jairus' Daughter", which will be performed at 7.30pm the same evening. Annie and the team are staying over and will lead morning worship on 21st at 10.45am.
